Clergisms

blood congealed

CLERG — ISMS

Hindu and Muslim blood equally congeal:

Communal flies swarm the wounds,

Religion behooves them duty bound,

The Mullah & Priest in opportune protests.

Cops and truncheons smeared,

With Human rage. Its ugly head reared,

The mindless and mindful gather in swarms

Echoing cries of Allah O Akbar & Hari Om

Eating away the logic of human mind.

The Koran and Gita lie undefined.

Innocents writhe in pain,

High Priests, busy to soothe and explain,

Agony of Emotions s exorcised in last rites,

Moderates speak in mute signs,

Greeting each other behind the lines.

Society In apathy: to read the signs,

Communal Calumny will out and spill.

Bigotry builds up frenzied will

Empty words from ancient books

Clergy-isms unfeelingly peal.

  1. Powerful, searing words…cutting through the madness and hypocrisies of religious fanaticism as only Words of Truth can. May sanity dawn upon young minds, may these cruel bigoted imams and sants who whip up the young into frenzy be cast into the dunghills of history!
    Strength to thy pen.

    1. Peace of Wild Things
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
